I like it. By the way that is not a knot, it is a huge hole in the wood :))

Tor and Odin are the greatest of gods.

I don’t discuss rabbit stew with the Rabbit, either for obvious reasons but I do like a nice bit of rabbit … SAY NO MORE! wink wink….

The hardware looks fine. Actually the hardware looks like two angry drunk octopuses that want a fight, but that might just be me … all this talk of animals and all. Nice project and nice gift. Well done.

Well done Brian.
It looks nice.

I like your pavers too.

Thanks, guys it went over well. Installed it this afternoon on a French cleat. The hardware was Lowe’s cheapo. Very functional if octopussy.

Very nicely done Brian. You get much better pallets there than we do here.

Pallet wood is like roulette. I found one slat that is some kind of curly something or other. It’s so beautiful and I have no idea what it is. I chose the pallets mainly by weight with the idea that heavier is more likely to be hardwood which in turn is more likely to be oak. It’s hard to tell by looking at them when they’re so dirty and chewed up. So far I have one spalted maple pallet runner, a bunch of oak runners and slats, some slats that are very clear and look like poplar (crisp, clean and boring) and this one magic curly something or other slat. The magic slat will make a fine accent to something. I wish I had more of it.

Here’s a photo of the magic slat. Any idea what this is? It’s incredibly beautiful in direct sunlight. The photo doesn’t do it justice.

That is beautiful. No idea what it is but that will make a loveley box…maybe some nice inlay…nice score, that.
