Thanks Barb, I advised him to take the oak but he sure did not listen. Amazing how much heavier the oak one was.

Oak is a much denser wood. I stopped working with oak because the splinter, open pores etc…

I like the walnut one too. This said both are nice.

Thanks all- I love working with walnut. It is so predictable.

I like working both woods but the oak has the feel of strength and permanence that the more elegant woods like walnut and cherry just don’t have. Your craftsmanship is very nice.
