What woods do you like best for the chairs? They look like you have a pattern or jig for building them, do you? If so how about a pic.

I use to burn wood like that in the 70s it was a fad then still looks good

I use pine and haven’t had any problems with them as long as they are stained with an outside sealant like deck stain. After I built my first one I took it apart and tweaked it to make it more comfortable and then made a hardboard temple of each piece and jigs to line thing up when I put them together. It saves a lot of time. I originally used a plans I Found online and adjusted them to fit my needs.

I had never seen the burned wood before until My brother-in-law showed me a bar he had made probably in the 70s area. I just fell in love with the look of the contrasts you are able to get without having to use different woods and the way it really brings out the grains.

I could use a couple of these around the pool. Willing to share the plans/design?

I don’t have the paper plans anymore just the hardboard templates. I did originally find the design online but don’t remember the exact website. If you Google Adirondack chair plans I’m sure you would be able to find some. I also believe wood magazine has some nice plans for Adirondack chairs.
