Hand Plane Cabinet

I made this cabinet several years ago, once I started getting into hand tools. I built a wall mounted tool cabinet to house all my hand tools. After a few years, I needed another cabinet for just hand planes. It is made from quarter sawn red oak on the sides, top and bottom shelves. The middle shelves and back panels are just red oak. The cabinet was made using only hand tools. The top and bottom shelves are thru tenons. The middle shelves are stopped dadoes. It is attached to the wall using a French Cleat. The finish was transtint dye, red mahagony I believe, and then Amber shellac.
This style was base on a medicine cabinet from the Stickley Craftsman magazine. The medicine cabinet had doors on it and I might go back and do that some day.

Very nice. Love the through tenons. Hey whats on the first shelf?

Thanks guys.
Jeff, it depends on which shelf you are looking at :0)
The very top has an antique Stanely Level.
The next shelf below that has a half set of hollows and rounds, snipe bills planes and a couple of rabbet planes. All from MS Bickford, absolutely awesome planes, love using them. Or if you are looking at the very bottom shelf, there are 2 LV Spokeshaves, a LN#8 behind the Spokeshaves, and a LV#7 behind the #8.

nice cabinet , real nice set of hand tools
