I don’t know if it will work on termites, but several years ago I bought a bookcase that had been shipped in from England. It sat in the garage overnight and the next day I discovered woodworms as there were piles of sawdust on the floor. I sprayed it liberally with WD40 and wiped it down. Am still using it today with no further signs of worms.

Are you sure its termites and not powderpost beetle, I had the same problem but could not find any trace of insects other than the powder they left behind. in any case this website might be of help.
