looking good, care to share more. type of wood, varnish, what you got in mind for bases?

Looks like a full day alright.

The wood is long leaf pine reclaimed from a school built in 1884. The tables are 28" wide, 2 1/2" thick, and range in length from 6 to 10 feet. The bar tops are 16" wide and 6’ and 11’. They’re for a salad restaurant with an environmental theme, thus the green dye.

The finish is satin conversion varnish. These have 1 coat of sealer and 1 top coat. We’ll put a second coat on Monday. CV is some tough stuff. The first restaurant we did for these folks was over 2 years ago and the finish on those tables looks almost brand new. I seldom spray lacquer any more as the CV is just so much more durable. It also has better UV inhibitors, so yellowing and color changes are minimized.

The bases are simple steel pedestals that are bolted to the floor. These puppies are pretty heavy and we certainly don’t want one falling over!
