I use a scraper, HOWEVER, using blue painters tape on the bars before gluing up is by far more preferable.

Some folks lay wax paper of their clamps to prevent most of the glue from getting on the clamps. Like your projects, it works best to remove excess glue before it drys completely but when it’s still in a rubbery state.

I am cool with that, now I have a bunch of glue on the posts. I will try my mapp torch.

If you use hot hide glue (indoor projects only) you can clean them up with warm water, even after the glue is dry. I do believe like the others that it is easier to prevent glue getting on them in the first place though.

I am tempted to say vinegar but I use my knife to trremove it.
I did wax some of my bessy with mixed result.

I use hot water like Mike when my hide glue needs cleanup but when I used to use other glues I found that a sharp whack with a hammer usually removed the blobs.

I stopped buying Bessey clamps b/c I couldn’t ever get glue out of the serrations on the clamp bar; have most Jorgensen clamps that are smooth and easy to chip the glue off with a scraper.

you’re supposed to remove the glue? well that fixes a lot of my problems.

I use a heat gun and a putty knife. It works well. If you wax your clamps the glue won’t adhere and will just pop off. I learned this the hard way, now I always wax new clamps before putting them to use.

Bates glue release

Fit a scotch brite belt to your linisher and give them a hit.
It removes and casting irregularities and smoothes the surface, hence removing the glue too.
Dont forget to preserve the surface before putting them away.
