Very handy!
One nice feature of any laser is accurate placement of marks for later use. I'll often use one to place starter dimples on a project so the bit has a place to register before drilling (like my cribbage boards). Small bits will always bend away slightly from a simple pencil mark in favor of a softer wood grain. The actual dimple gives it a pre-bite hole for accuracy.
A nice and pointy nail set also works, but then you need a good eyeball to get that aligned.
