Thank you gents. I was so luck to be able to get all that reclaimed wood out of the house before they tossed it to the dumpster. What happened was they were tearing down a lake house and they had posted in the paper if anyone wanted anything from the home as in windows, doors, trim, Etc.. they could have it for free. So I went in to take a look to see if there was anything of value. well there was a guy there taking up the carpeting so I looked under the foam mating to see if there was any hard wood flooring. nope just the sub-floor. Humm. The trim was pine but if it was oak i would have taken all of it. well I talked with the guy who was in charge in taking down the house. I asked him if I could have all the sub floor planking. he looked at me scratched his head and said really. i said yep. I asked when the take down the house if they could remove all the walls and roof that way I could get the sub-floor. well he thought about it and then said sure. That day came, and I took a crow bar hammer, a few other things and my son, couple of my buddies and my sons buddies to aid me in recovering the wood. We hauled out two 6 × 10 trailer loads and two pickup loads. and it was fully packed. i had to cut some of it but i kept mostly around 14 foot. Well that’s how I ended up with all the lumber. And now I’m making things from it. its great to reuse wood why burn it or toss it in the land fill.
