re: Whirlpool Crochet Flower Doily Pattern

This doily is absolutely beautiful! I am having a little problem with the yarn weight stated as a ply, though. What I am familiar with is either the name (lace, sport, double knit [DK], worsted, chunky, etc.) or the number (lace is 0 or 1, sport is 2, DK is 3, worsted is 4, chunky is 5, etc.). Usually a 4mm hook is used with a DK weight yarn, but usually a doily is done with a lace weight yarn. Could you please clarify this for me? Thank you so much!
