I like the supports that tie it into the floor and ceiling. Can't count the number of times our trees fell over when the beasts got a bit crazy. Also great for making it have a smaller foot print.

Pottz, our formerly adopted cat (now with the adopter) would use the bowls for horking (and the rest of the tree).

I imagine Ross's bowls will, if anything, fill with hair.
