Splinter G,
Yep just slide over the tissue box.
Ron,
I love the look of laminated boxes too. Pretty much my go to style, pretty easy to get a striking result with some planning.
Wood M,
Geez fancy lumber is $$. Was about $130 with my WW Club 10% ditscount. Made a mistake and pick some boards out of the buy the pound bucket. Does make 4 boxes.
Ryan, Pottz & Dan B,
Thanks for commenting. Put the potting bench up for the Craftisian gardner.
LBD,
Was going to add "Wellermart" blonde shellac, DW was wanting to go see our son and g-kid. Lov me some Timbermate too. The best black filler that is actually black.
All,
When cutting miters pushed down with a block of wood to make the cupped boards flat to the sled. Picture 3 was proof of concept to me that I could pull the miters tight.
Picture 2 you will see bleeding from the bloodwood into the end grain of the Yellow Heart, damn I know better. Tried sanding out but the end grain was going to take too much cutting to get it out. That box was the first to get finish. On the other boxes ran blue frog tape around on the YH and put 3 coats of shellac on the bloodwood letting it dry for 24 plus hours before trying coating the entire box. Took a lot of tape.
