Juniper (at least the
Rocky Mountain Juniper I’ve got) is somewhat brittle. I end up spending some time fixing up cracks in almost any that I work with, and the sawdust is an irritant and sets off my allergies. Once I finish up the batch I’ve got on hand, I probably won’t go out of my way to harvest and mill any more of it.
Eastern Red Cedar is related closely enough that they’ll hybridize, so if you’ve worked with that, you’ll have a pretty good idea.
