Is that a tile face, filled or TiO2 dust?
Just a plain cheap tile with gloss white enamel paint. Your method is much smarter, but this works and I’ve yet to go get the materials to do it your way.

Naw, the paint is fine, I often use Rustoleum 2x flat or gloss white which has a high TiO2 content. Only downside is the solvents/strippers needed to remove the un-lased paint.

What did you do for the finish on the cherry? Your logo on the bottom made me think that a neat way to do this would be to lase your logo, cover with good painters tape, lase the black border and remove the now-cut tape outside the logo area, then finish. You'd get the same as you have now with the finished wood outside. I really like the contrast!
