Hi Alex, to finish the contours after bandsawing, I use a finishing sander all along the surfaces to try to take off the same amount everywhere. I worked it up in grades 100-150 & 220. When I mount the hinges, I put a piece of cardboard between them right next to the hinges to insure the top falls flat onto the bottom and does not hang up and not close completely. I save all the cardboard from the Coke cases that my wife drinks like it is going out of style. It is great for patterns and all kinds of applications.
