Looks great Dick, nice use of recycled materials. That’s an interesting idea for securing the lid. How did you get the slats on the body aligned with the grooves in the lid?
I won't sugar coat it - for me, it was an sob. I had to decide just how I wanted it, then measure and start the groove on the router table. measure, route, measure, route I'm totally happy with the fit. no wobble and I got it to fit so that there was no end play as well. I torture myself on occasion just to keep my sanity in check
almost forgot - my digital calipers are one of my most used tools
