Not too bad of a recovery Dave!
Am I seeing just the wall of a branch or did you use pen-diameter branches?
I know Cholla tends to be fairly fat early on, wondering if some of the "Pencil" cactus I have menacing me has a similar bone structure, its maybe 1/2" in diameter.
