Nice setup, Tom!! If the board I'm cutting is wide enough, I run the bottom side through the jointer to make it straight and square with the flat side, draw a line on the top and cut to the line. If it is narrower, I flatten the bottom the same and clamp it to an angle plate and follow the line on top. I always run them through the planer afterwards. I find if I have them against a fixed fence and the blade wanders toward the fence, I'd lost the ball game sometimes!! I always use a 1/4"- 10 pitch blade for everything so I stand a chance of wandering on high boards being cut.
