re: Durhams Rock Hard water putty

I started using this stuff back in the 1970s, where there were fewer choices.   Like you, I used it for everything.  I used it a few times on stained work, tinting it a bit; the problem there is that it tends to block stains beyond the hole.  Since I now used dyes exclusively, I might give it another try.

Kept a can until we moved 7 years ago, and cleaned out a lot of stuff.  Forgot about it, and have not seen it in stores.
