BB1, as sprinter mantioned/confirmed, those push "sticks" are better than nothing, however, they will not hold a board being ripped down. With the blade spinning clockwise (looking from the left) has the tendency to lift the board and sometimes to the point that the cut may have not have come all the way thorough with the board partially riding on top of the blade, (picture somewhat exaggerated). Even with my longer based push sticks it may occur, but if you are careful, less likely. When I rip long boards/sheet goods(and not use my tracksaw), I will use my JessEm guides with that long nosed push stick to feed the job under the jig's arms. Depending on the width I may use my push blocks.
If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
