Yep, you are too hard on yourself.... I just finished 6 "coin frames" (300mm x 300mm) and had to use external splines to reinforce,,, and hide the gaps. But then again, yours is in imperial, which considerably raises the degree of difficulty.
Bit pissed (more than usual)... the urgent request by a "friend" be-for-e Christmas, is still waiting to be picked up... and people wonder why I'm such a miserable old grump.
If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
