Thanks all! Sir Stewart, interesting idea! Only thing I can think of is setting up the way these were intended to be used. That is, the light is applied directly to the edge of clear glass with the design etched. The etched areas will light up, so a stack of glass plates, separated by a few mm, could produce the depth. Something to noodle over for sure!
