At first I thought you'd go for one of your fancy Domino counter top edge linker doodads, but noooo!
This fix is "perfect"!
Damn it Splinter, where were you when I was mulling over the solution with a cask-o-vino as the mentor.
I never considered my Domino… could have been another ideal opportunity to use their breakdown connectors… much as I have that love affair with MDF, endgrain work still freaks me out… every marriage has its foibles.

I love my centipede...I got the 4x8 one and they weren't giving it away either...I do not have the top tho...I suppose I better keep up with the ducks tho.
Personally they are worth every shekel... I can't imagine how anyone can possibly fit a 1219.2mm x 2438.4mm into their workspace.... appreciate that a 4' x 8' will probably fit better.
Being a devout advocate of the MFT style tabletop, the perforation of 20mm dog holes was a must... was just a tad too lazy to drill myself and our local MDF supplier only sold appropriate MDF in 4800mm x 2400mm sheets and they refuse to cut MDF to fit in the car... and guess who's too lazy to hitch up the trailer with The Donald inspired petrol shortage.
I use these packers
under the job when using my tracksaw on it
all aligned using TSO lock-dogs, keeping everything at a perfect 90°.

Dutchy/Gary G, I first became aware of the Shaper just over  6  7 years ago and immediately thought of hundreds of uses.  Having a 110V transformer, I wanted to order one from the States, however, the supplier/manufacturer declined as they said that as it couldn’t be supported in Aussieland, it could besmirch the brand name/reputation.  Skip forward 6 years, when they became available locally, I immediately placed an order, without though of what I would/could use it for today… so far I haven’t been inspired to use it on anything worthwhile... I've had it since Jan 2025, yet to cut wood/MDF/plastic... just air cuts so far.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
