I have distributed aerosol cans of spray carburetor cleaner with the tube nozzle attached to ward off "pests" around the area, usually for the underside of outdoor chairs before sitting. Having a lighter handy is also good when a flame thrower is needed.
Pesky horse flies (ranchers like to call them deer flies) in the shop are dispatched with a barbecue lighter, just lightly depress the trigger to flood the area stealthfully with butane then pop the igniter.
