Hi Steven. It was not hard to turn the shank down. Just the carbide is hard on those bits. I think it was made in China from old beer cans. It is crap steel and does not cut real clean. I just had to get it center drilled and I had a lot different plan on how to that that but the bit was too big in diameter to fit any collet.

Hi Tom, I wondered how they did that too- maybe a hand plane with the v- grooves in it. Heck, I'd have just put flat trim on it but he wanted it original!! I like challenges but without this bit, I did not have a plan B!!!
