Petey: A couple of the cellarettes are on here, but were pushed far back when I began migrating older stuff over from planet X. I'll try to locate some photos of th elast one and post.
Lost a lot of photos last week when my phone dropped out of my pocket as I was exiting the car. Heard the thump, looked under the car and saw nothing; decided it went between seat and side and would find it when I got home. Not there. I think most of the WW photos are on the computer, but lots of other stuff was not. And it was not fully backed up in the cloud, so about the last year was lost.
Moral here: back the damn thing up.
And my MAJOR RULE - nothing - nothing financial on the damn phone. I simply don't trust them.
There are far too many ways of stealing today....and far too many AHs across the world trying to do so, and the information age makes it easier. In this house, we both have desktops. I have 2 laptops, one a very old one used for music in the shop; its connected to the unsecured channel on the network. We both have tablets. Anything financial is handled only on this desktop, absolutely nothing on any of the others. This one has all the protection I can get; Norton 360 (anti-virus secure VPN), Norton Anti-track, Norton Utilities, Lifelock and others.
Wanda is into dementia and macular degeneration.
She gets confused about spam emails, etc. She simply cannot understand what "don't open suspicious emails" means - remember abotu 10 minutes.
Last week, I went upstairs and she was trying to call Geek Squad because she got an email saying that our subscription would expire and we owed $249 - we don't have and never had a Geek Squad subscription. The originating email came from the Philippines. (BTW, to see the originating email address, hover the cursor over the originator's name and the true email address will pop up) This particular scam is notorious for saying their credit card processing is down and they want to debit your bank account.
So, now, I log in to her email several times per day and delete such garbage.
OK, my venting for the day !
