 By combining maple, walnut and cherry  I was able to produce this beautiful 3D effect. I still need to put a finish on it that will really make it pop 
walnut maple and cherry jointing and planing

Beautiful work! The finish will make all the difference! You probably know to only use a food grade oil on the board.
