Christmas Village Shelf

For those who recall me askig about drilling holes in the end of 2" dowels. Here's the Christmas village stand with all of the stuff on it as per my wife. Turned out pretty good. 3/8" threaded inserts and hanger bolts. Plan she found online. It's the 4th design I've done now. Hope she's happy now even if everything she has didn't fit!

Neat idea for the holidays Fog. 👍

Certainly looks great all lit up. Did you allow for power to run up through the center?

Pretty simple plan. Base is made from 3/4" ply. Circles were all cut from 3/4" ply on the bandsaw. Dowels have a 3/8" hanger bolt on one end and a threaded insert on the other so everything breaks down for storage.

I drilled 1" holes adjacent to the center, 2" dowels. One on each level was sufficient. There are adaptors for multiple plug ins for houses and accessories screwed to the bottom of the second and third levels so all cords go there. Wifey wrapped furry stuff around the dowels after to hide the cords.
