New home for my Makita planer

I can't be the only member who has come across such a good deal on a tool that it couldn't be passed by. Such is the story with my 6 3/4" Makita planer. It was a much-needed purchase for a project I was proud to be part of but at its completion it was surplused. The price was just shipping it across the country. I have only used it twice since I've had it and shipwright friends have borrowed it half a dozen times, but for the most part it has sat on a top shelf and sank into the sawdust. The design and construction of a previous box for my hand planes was followed for this box as well. 24"X12"X11 1/8" walnut with hard maple accoutrements. Japanese inspired with a tapered key in the lid. Sanded and waxed then buffed bright. Much better than sitting on a shelf covered with a rag.

Some of my most creative moments have been when I've had to cover up an error in my woodworking.

Very cool!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Another mind bender with wood colors!!
