Nicely done! Any build pics?

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

any finish or are you just gonna let it weather naturally ?

Would be a great idea for a solar light!
Just let cedar weather or maybe stain to match the deck.  Have 14 posts. Lighting is a battery timer tea light with ribboned tin foil hung in middle to give flicker effect.
That foil is a great idea!

I'm thinking of buying a few (more) of the super cheap solar walk path lights (about $2 each) and ripping out the guts.
Extend the wires to move the LED to a good spot and see if I can work with your ideas!
Sounds good!  In process making a small similar lantern. Will take more pics building it.
Changed the top section.  Added magnets to take access the light.
I can see that evolving into mini Asian temples! A great idea to cap some deck posts,
Will send more pics when done….
I like ur boxes & inlay work a lot!
Nice addition! It compliments the rest of the lantern nicely. Good add 👍🏼

Interesting the difference between Asian architectural cultures in design, mostly roofs.
Amazing strong structures built with joinery, not nails or screws.  Titbond III glue & hidden screws works best for me, being waterproof for exterior exposures here in Michigan.
How do I replace 1st picture with the latest one.
just click on the 3 dots right side and you can edit.
