I had cut this oak tree in the yard for firewood because part of it was dead. My son in law and me saw this certain log and had the same thought. We took it to the shop and sliced it in half , debarked it and sanded it down. We put some of the cut up logs on the lathe and a few hours later we had our first log bench.

Very nice little project. (Question) what do you do if the log in drying tries to split.
