I wanted more room for my BBQ utensils and a space to put down the food while working on the grill.
Got the idea off the net, few tweaks for my grill type and voila!

Very useful. Does the wooden part get hot? The grill must be touching wood, or is their some kind of shield to keep the wood from catching fire?

Thanks guys – Thorreain, the wood doesn’t get hot at all – ran the BBQ up to 600 degrees to test it out, slightly warm, but not hot. There’s about a 1/2 inch gap between the grill and table top. The grill is mounted from underneath using the 2/4 supports for the top.
