Hanging Plaque: Nan

This is a relatively simple make but I’ve learnt a lot from it and my nan loves it. I used some scrap wood to practice my carving and then coated it in wood stain.

I then coated it in clear gloss varnish and left it to dry for a couple of days. I finished it off by adding some garden twine and metal hooks.

My favourite thing about this piece is the way the wood stain has highlighted the natural beauty of the patterns in the wood
