This is the box that Mark received. No it’s not book-matched! It’s my version of Intarsia. It is also fortuitous as a locking mechanism was suggested as he was going to keep his “treasures” in it. Found a butterfly hasp and I’d been playing with the top of the box and it looks like a butterfly to me. It has a leather bottom and it was made to his perameters.
Murphy was apparently going to teach me something as I* cut the bottom off the box in stead of the top! *Walked away for awhile and then did the “What if I….” technique.
He reported that his wife “Georgia was Gobsmacked!” I had to look that up. LOL!
He and I spoke today and he tells me it holds his favorite chess pieces and the timer and it sits on the mantel over his fire place.

I like it cool box Tom.

Fine piece of work Tom !
The lid is especially attractive and yes the hasp works perfectly with this box design.
Also a good recovery from cutting off the bottom that’s a way to make Murphy look .

Jim, Klaus,
Thanks for your support and inspiration. Mark has been there for me and an inspiration as well. I can call and talk about the problems of creating vs, machines breaking down…LOL! He’s pretty good at confronting my BS too! LOL
