Made using used (not new) galvanised pipe and fittings that are usually discarded from my real job painted matt black. The table top was from an old sewing sweat shop and hence had the machine oil sump hole which had been replaced but not fixed in as it lived in a workshop for many years after that, drilling , welding , swearing ,screwing and hammering were just some of the abuses it suffered from the trades until its original owner died and the workshop went quiet for 15 years. The inch markings for measuring cloth are still visible in the far left hand corner. The top cast wheel was from a 2 speed singer leather /bootmakers treadle machine from the original sweatshop and the lower wheel is from a 1 1/2 inch myers piston pump (turns freely). As I wanted something more substantial for the feet I used Australian coachwood pads turned on the lathe. All the holes on the table were plugged with tasmanian oak dowel and the entire surface filled with cornice /plasterboard cement (add a tiny bit of PVA glue to make it stronger), with black/ brown oxide for colour Finished in laquer based floor varnish for durability and fast drying.
Very impressive job . Looks great .
