My friends took a vacation to Oregon and went to a farm. They saw Alpacas and saw that they sold baby Alpaca yarn knitted projects. She fell in love with a puffy beanie that was just Ivory. She then saw some yarn with a bit of “sparkle” in them and told her husband, “I want Kathy to make a beanie out of THIS yarn for me!” They contacted me while on their vacation and I told them how much to buy.
Special shout out to: Debbie Pribele for helping me figure out how much yarn was needed to make a beanie.
I then asked my friend’s wife if she wanted the same beanie made that she was wearing or something plain and simple. She said she will leave it up to me. She also loves cherry blossoms, so I added 3 of my own using this pattern from Neko Knits: Sakura, http://nekosknitting.blogspot.com/2011/03/sakura.html
I decided to add a little “sparkle” so I went to JoAnn fabrics and found some buttons with a little gem in the middle. Then I used a stretchy string (used for making bracelets) to tie it all together.
I looked up a pattern via YouTube for a puffy beanie, by Crochet Geek:
