I love to crochet and I love Art, one of my favourite paintings is Claude Monet’s Water Lilies, so what better way to combine my two favourite hobbies by crocheting Water Lily granny squares, a true Arts & Crafts project! I’m using a 6mm hook, luxury Aran in 4 gorgeous vintage colours, cream for the petals, green for the leaves and I’m alternating the middle of the flowers by using purple and dusky pink and a pearl to add a little bit of glamour. I found the pattern in a book of 500 granny squares, I started off just using odd bits of yarn trying out the different squares, but when i got to this one I fell in love with it (once I’d mastered all those stitches!), I loved it so much I’ve decided to make a bedspread. It will take me a while to complete, as I suffer with a spinal conditon which affects my hands, but I don’t mind as I just love the pattern it’s so beautiful and can’t wait to see it all finished! It will be my best project to date, my pride and joy, I hope you love it too :-)
