re: pine wood derby

No pine wood derby?? Bummer. If you’re not aware, it’s a Boy Scouts tradition for many many years. Little kits with a block of wood, some nails as axels and plastic tires. The kids are supposed to shape and paint the car body and once they’re done you race them down a track against the other Scouts. At least way back in the day, it was an all day affair with weigh ins, multiple race heats competing, trophies (but not for everyone…I suspect that has changed). Our Pack always paired it with a BBQ lunch. Good times!
