Thanks Jim, and that is probably why I try to avoid pocket screws. Just something does not seem “natural” about it.

Old pocket screws seem like a PITA to hand drill and install, but as you said, they are the equivalent of standard production shortcuts. Interesting, but shortcuts nevertheless.
