I agree with poison or peanut butter... and plenty of it... peanut butter.
I was old school and and believed in the trusted wood, and lost about 1kg of cheese and no victim. Went new age and invested in one of these plastic ones and I lost about another 1kg of cheese and probably made the mouse fatter. Hate those mices to pices, and surfed the net and found a super sensitive, hair trigger unit, ... still no luck with the bloody cheese. Then one day the little sucker (or one of the family) was spotted and it was tiny and nowhere big enough to any trap.
I set up 4 traps loaded with peanut butter... still no luck for about 4 days, continually re-loading the traps with the peanut butter, until they must have gorged themselves and now were bulging with muscles... reloaded the traps with cheese (bit harder to lick)... snap, snap the next day, snap the day after and another snap the day after that... fifth day onwards it must have been the full litter as the peanut butter fattened the little bastards up enough to wipe out that family... RIP little buggas.
If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD
