Veritas Spoke Shave Set spoke shave

This is the veritas spoke shave set sold by Lee Lalley. I bought this set back when i did my Maloof rocker. It came in very handy for all the shaping needed. I was just using the concave shave on a project im now working on and thought, why not do a review. The set comes with a straight blade, a concave and a convex shave. Also includes shimes in the pockets on the left side which also serve to hold spare blades. There is room for a total of 6 spoke shaves. Comes in a heavy duty canvas roll. Handles are hardwood. Blades are made from pm-v11 toll steel. Buying the set saves about 20% over individual. As with all Veritas tools the quality is excellent.

Nice! I have a Flex-Cut spokeshave which I have yet to use. Bought it in a "spending frenzy" after I sold my hotrod '68 Buick Skylark.

I have the convex for cleaning up inside curves. Having never used one before I'm still trying to figure it out so not many miles on it for a good comment, However, being a Veritas I'll assume it's the nut behind the wheel 🤠
quite possible 🤔

They sure are 100's of a % better than these cheap red clunkers...

and if I 'member the same ratio in price... however, I am quoting AUD not your cheap USD$ (Unstopable Senile Donald),

The problem is how/where do you use them... you can shave the handle on the Veritas with the el chepo, but not Vicvky Verka.

If your first cut is too short... Take the second cut from the longer end... LBD

how the hell would i ever guess you wouldn't have one 🤔😂 question is, do you ever use it ?

WOT... that red thingo... my old man had it... or mum... or maybe I pinched it from an op shop?

The Veritas?... of course I've used it... I wanted to know how good this Camelia oil works,

The only problem is, I'm still trying to figure out how that squeezy thing on top works... it has a bloody cap that stops me from pressing it.

I have those as well Pottz and also the pull shave which comes in very handy at times! Mine have the bubinga handles which were discontinued some time ago. Great tools.

I too have the flat bottom spokashave from Veritas (vintage; with Bubinga handles). Also PM-V11. Love it. I have a few other spokeshaves but want to get more of the Veritas variants
Nice set Pottz.
