I'll start it off with my zip tie post.

This one caught my eye, and I ordered it.  The ties are stainless steel.  It's kinda cool how the tie locks.  The lever is to cut the tie, so doing that is optional.  A tool to release the tie is included, and does work.

Rich,

Thanks for starting this!  I am following.

I had an old zip tie gun for larger ties that I found somewhere. It was pretty cool. It would tighten to a pre-set tension then clip the end of the tie, all in one motion. The ties were meant for a larger application that what I needed so it was overkill, but cool none the less. Now stainless ties, wow!

Ryan/// ~sigh~ I blew up another bowl. Moke told me "I made the inside bigger than the outside".

Bought this tiny miter box on Amazon for $13.63.  Aluminum

Works great for cutting strings for Sting in-lay and dowles.

Power miter box just flings the small parts. The saw I had alread . Ruler for size.

I'm going to take one of the SS ties apart to see how it locks.  It's smooth metal, and something inside the head locks it, but can be unlocked with an included tool (just a narrow flat blade).  They're rated at a couple hundred pounds so whatever locks it is pretty secure.

I have about a dozen of these small size quick clamps.  A few over a decade old and still chugging.  And I could use a dozen more some days!

And I’ve tried other brands, cheaper and more expensive, and haven’t found any that are a match for the Irwins IMO.
Recommendations for a good caulk gun to use with Liquid nails?

I ruined my nicer one last week because the plunger got so cockeyed it busted the bottom of the tube and the two became one.  And this cheapy is far from up to the task.  Just needs too much pressure.
I have about a dozen calking guns, they all suck in one way or another. Those stamped steel nightmares are about the worst, but they are cheap.

Best I've found so far has a cast handle unit and you can see the brass bushings used to lock the shaft as it plunges.
Better, but still has issues.

I learned that for sheathing where the LNs is used along each joist/rafter, a battery operated one would be a blessing.
The SS zip ties are great for outdoor (UV). I like the tool!

Great for rehanging mufflers/exhaust 🤠
These Zona razor saws are excellent. Sharp as a mathlete and were $7 back when I bought a few.
Price now is nearing double, but still worth it IMO.

They come in a huge variety of styles/TPI, etc.
Thanks Splint.  Home depot has one with a two speed selector I may go grab.  I didn’t see anything beefier available locally except battery powered and I just don’t need it enough to spend $100+ on one.

Rich, did the stainless ties come from Amazon?  Got a link?
I saw the SS ties on Amazon.  I saw Riches zip tie gun and of course had to have one.  It is cool...got on of  the better ones, it is metal...I think 32.00 or something and is metal.  What would one use SS ties for?...sorry to be so dumb.....I mean beyond the obvious automotive uses....

Kenny I have a ryobi powered caulking gun...it is great....I haven't use a squeeze one in years now.  I think they are pricey now...sad when even ryobi gets pricey.

Petey---I have a few of those saws and a small miter....box I guess?  hard to call it a box, its so little.  I used to do some framing and matte cutting...just for myself and my studio and I cut Fillets with that.  it works great great...it looks like a toy but works good.

I've had mine for maybe 20 years?
Not sure where I bought it, probably HD/Lowes.
Nary a marking anywhere on it for ID.

Top: POS
Bottom: better
Thanks guys.  The Husky one at HD looks the most promising so I’ll go grab one later.
there are a bunch on amazon that look almost the same as mine and splints. run around 20-25. i agree about the one you and splint (top one) have. a waste of money unless it's a one time use.
