How I Make A Tuna Sub

They are ready to eat.

My wife likes Provolone cheese on her tuna  subs and I like sharp cheddar.

Cutting the celery.

Chopping the celery.
Chopping the onions. I use two slices of sweet onions. I add a 12 ounce can of light tuna in water. I give the water to my cat if it’s unsalted. I think she thinks it’s tuna soup.

After I add the celery and onions to a bowl, I like to add a heaping tablespoon of sweet relish, 1/2 tablespoons of celery seeds and 1/2 tablespoons of celery salt.

I add 1/4 tablespoon of dill weed. You can also use freshly chopped dill weed but increase it to one tablespoon. It will taste so much better when you use it fresh.

Adding half the juice of a lemon or lime. I use lime because my neighbor has a lime tree and gives me some.

Adding some monk fruit sweetener to combat the sour taste but not the taste of the lime.

Add some mayonnaise to taste.

Mixing it all together.

Cutting the buns almost all the way through.

Placing the buns in the preheated oven at 400 degrees for about 4 minutes. Don’t over bake these Bolillos buns. All we are going for is a little crunch on the outside.

Cut up some tomato and cucumber slices.

I hope you think of your favorite quack cook next time you’re enjoying your favorite tuna sub sandwich.

Bonappetit. Quack!

Something happened when I was around 20, since I can't stomach Tuna. Prior to that I used to eat it all the time. I eat a ton of chicken salad though.
Thanks George. My daughter can’t eat it either. I’ll make some chicken salad for you. I might make it for my next gourmet recipe.
At least there wasn’t any carrots in it. Lol

I love carrots, just don't think of them as an Italian ingredient. Use them all the time with meals, or in my Big meat dishes. Chuck steak, cooked slow with a buncha carrots is a good thing. :-)
Thank goodness you like them. Can you eat a lobster and shrimp gourmet sandwich. I was on Catalina island with some of my children and their husbands and wives and some of my grandchildren and their husbands and wives this year and we had the most delicious sandwiches
