to start it off ive so far done a steak and taters on the gas side of my new grill. plan on smoking a duck on the pellet side this weekend to break her in. so far im lovin it.

i thought about getting a griddle but i dont think id use it enough to justify. plus i figure ill just get a griddle plate to lay on the gas grill side when i need it.

I picked up one of these a while back, Lar. Twin burner. It is one hot mofo. It will easily put a good char on a burger. I like to use it to brown meat for stews. It's better than a pot or skillet since the juice doesn't pool up and ruin the browning.
Add an adapter to fit it to a tank, and you're set (unless you want to buy bottles).
