Over the years I have worked in 3 different furniture Factory's ,  Started at St Johns table Co. ( Cadillac Mich. ) in 78-79
then in Grand Rapids MI,  Kindel Furniture Co.  High end Mahogany Furniture from 85-88.
and last at Bake furniture Co. of Grand Rapids MI. for 12 yrs. until they Closed in the mid 90's.  I picked up lots of tips from the ole timers and exceled on that. One thing I look at yet today is the areas of mistakes lots of Companys make with
assembly of their Furniture is NOT using enough glue in their joints with assembling .

Sounds like you have a wealth of tips for us unwashed to learn. Your glue comment rings true, I've cut up lots of couches and other "stuff" as we've replaced various items around the house (hate to see useful structural wood go to waste). I noticed a lot of dowels and not much glue aside from the dowel insertion points. Seems staples are the goto fastener lately.

What have you seen change over the decades?
welcome doug scott, i look forward to what you contribute here !
