Hey Brian. Yeah I did miter the corners. Started with a screw in each mitered corner . Then squared the frame and screwed it down to saw horses to hold it square. Then I started laying everything on top of that frame and screwed everything down. Each thing was finally tied to each other with the second frame. Turned out to be 2 & 1/4 inches thick. But I couldn’t get the look I wanted any other way.
