Hi Ryan. I got this 3/8" material out of the dumpster where we pull out high grade maple plywood. The guy that threw it in said you can't drive a nail in it ( but you can drill, cut ,rout and turn it with no problem). I cut 7 pieces about 1 5/8" square and glued up the stack with 5 minute epoxy. All except the top and bottom pieces had 1/2" hole drilled in them and were strung up on a 1/2" dowel before gluing the stack together. Then I cut off the corners in the band saw and turned it round in the lathe. I drilled a hole for the steel point and turned the front round for the brass ferrule. I glued on the ferrule and glued in the point and held it by the point to shape it and bore in the back for the cartridge case.....................Cheers, Jim
