Thanks, guys! That carving provided some real insight into the art of carving. While making it, I noticed that the carving in the tutorial didn't match the carving on the cover of the book. Mistakes can be made in some cases and the carving can be just fine. I used to do mechanical design, and the parts had better match the drawing to within the tolerances, or the final product may not work properly. That was a big lesson for me.
