Thanks Everybody!
lanwater, I buy the 3/8" benderboard from one of our local lumber suppliers (Petermans Lumber)
It comes in 4×8 or 8×4 so it will bend whatever direction you need.
The pre-cat I use is Sherwin Williams. ML Cambell makes a good one as well called Magnalac.
I’m not mixing color into the lacquer. I’m putting the color on and then clear coating afterwards.
SW can match most colors for you if you want.
Pre cat is just as easy to use as nitrocellulose lacquer. Cost more, but less coats required and it is more durable. And has a better finish and feel than regular lacquer.
(and it has a shelf life to consider)
L/W, I have another whole milk crate full of them. I used to do a lot of solid surface tops,
(not so much anymore though, every once in a while if I have to)
Just the bed on the right, hanging closet and real drawers on the left. Once everybody else gets out of the room, (stereo people, painters, electricians) and cleans their mess, I will get some pics and will open the doors up.
Thanks Paul and Mike, I appreciate it.
Figuring out how to do something you have never done is what makes a good challenge.
