Hi James, The tread depth in 9 1/2" and the rise is 8". I had to scrunch it back a bit to get it to come out in the right place on the bottom. I usually make the rise 7". 

Hi Albert, The walk way is Wolmanized wood- probably treated pine and it has lasted a Long long time. I have a wood room under the deck and the floor is Wolmanized plywood and it too has lasted a long time. We can't get that green treated wood in Arizona..it is all brown there.
